Mars House was sparked by the shifting demands brought on by the pandemic. It was designed to cater to a family's evolving needs while offering a retreat from urban life. The design focuses on creating a balance between private and shared spaces, supporting the family’s daily routines while fostering a sense of connection. The request for a basketball court was the catalyst for the split level layout which organizes the house into a series of distinct yet interconnected spaces. Shifts in volume and scale were carefully orchestrated to create contrasting moments of intimacy and openness.
