The NANEI NISHIKI Building in Nagoya has undergone a major facade renovation, transforming into a design rooted in its historical context. Once clad in terracotta bricks, it now embraces a site-specific concept inspired by the opulent silk fabrics of “Nishiki.” The design, based on the idea of “Adorning with Nishiki,” features randomly arranged aluminum louvers symbolizing silver threads, interwoven with warm-toned line lights evoking golden strands. Honoring tradition while embracing innovation and elegance, the building has become a new landmark in the cityscape.
