The Museum is located in a place facing the Three Gorges Dam,the largest water control hub in human history, and it is located along a line connecting Zigui Old Town upstream and the Three Gorges Dam downstream. The design revolves around this axis, dividing the exhibition space into two groups : “Homeland” and “New Home”. The design team focused primarily on two aspects: first, exploring how to narrate the historical events and emotions of the Three Gorges resettlement through the space itself; and second, enhancing the cultural space for the city's residents through public space design.
