SHOUXIAN PALACE, featured in the film Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms, 2023 ( Best Genre Artistic Contribution, 80th Venice International Film Festival), serves as the empress’s residence within the imperial city. This meticulously crafted mass-timber design blends architectural authenticity with cinematic storytelling. Ornamental dougong and soaring zaojing convey a softer, maternal presence while accommodating the film’s dynamic action sequences. Gentle curves and thatched roofs evoke a distinctive mood of humility, desolation, and femininity within the narrative.
