Toronto’s Spirit Garden is a contemplative public space that engages visitors with Indigenous culture through experiential installations. The architects collaborated with Indigenous architects, artists, and knowledge keepers to foster reconciliation between non-Indigenous and Indigenous peoples, utilizing symbolism, storytelling, and native plantings. Every element honours Indigenous traditions while encouraging future learning and reflection. Located at Nathan Phillips Square—Toronto's iconic civic hub—Spirit Garden symbolizes the resilience of Indigenous peoples in the face of colonialism.
