Green Island, the second-phase design for the Jiading Jialuo 110kV Substation Upgrade, reimagines a utility facility as an open, green, and interactive urban node. A double-skin facade breathes, grows, and stores energy, promoting harmony between people and nature. South and east facades feature photovoltaic panels with operable units that adjust seasonally, boosting energy efficiency and creating shaded public areas. West and north facades use perforated aluminum with integrated planting, buffering nearby residences. The project unites energy, ecology, and community in one vibrant space.
