This proposal envisions a future 20 years from now, when water scarcity has become a pressing issue in Inner Mongolia. Rather than treating water conservation as a political statement or a compromise in lifestyle, the design explores how it can become part of daily aesthetics. Rainwater is collected through the roof and stored in an inner cavity—an architectural “belly” whose weight fluctuates with the water it holds. These changes subtly transform the interior atmosphere, creating dynamic shifts in light and shadow that reflect the rhythms of rainfall.
