RE:STATION transforms an abandoned Birmingham gas station into a hydroponic garden market, shifting a symbol of fossil fuel extraction into one of cultivation. The 1,676 SF footprint is preserved and expanded with a greenhouse tower, rooftop growing, and modular hydroponics for year-round harvests. Inside, the former sales floor becomes a marketplace and flexible space for education, workshops, and community gathering. The project reduces waste, fosters local micro-economies, and demonstrates a scalable model of sustainable renewal, turning overlooked infrastructure into life-giving assets.
