The design brief for the New CLP Headquarters Building required the architects to create an iconic, modern structure that meets current and future corporate needs and enhances occupant views of a nearby park, Kowloon Bay and Hong Kong Harbour. Key requirements included a G/F main entrance and main lift lobby, 2/F open communal area, 3/F staff recreation facilities, 5/F-11/F offices; and a landscaped roof. The client encouraged the architects to create a unique design that would appear visually independent next to the enormous new 50,000-seat Hong Kong Stadium located at Kai Tak Sports Park.
