Geng Du Tang is a traditional courtyard house in the countryside of Taizhou，China. The grounds are tranquil, open and self-contained. The wear and tear from the ages are apparent from the mottled slates, the cracks of the columns, or the dust in the window panels. By the stroke of fate, we’ve come to meet this old residence with presence, and got inspired with the idea of remodeling it: retaining its original temperament, exploring how to modernize it while maintaining its deep-rooted traditions in midst of the hustle and bustle of the times.
