This is the Western-style building of the former Marquis Maeda residence, a mansion built in 1929 with the best of European architecture. For a time after the war, it became the official residence of a foreign power, but now it is open to the public as a national important cultural property and can be visited. The interior of the building retains the atmosphere of that time, and tells the history with its presence. The chandeliers in the building are decorated differently in each room, and the light of the present intersects with the glamorous past and years.
