The City of Orillia plans to rebuild the Dr. Seymour Conservatory in Couchiching Beach Park, merging a greenhouse and museum to support city gardens and display local history. This year-round public facility will host community gatherings, festivals, and family picnics, serving as an interactive discovery center and teaching garden. The design aims to create an inspirational landmark, optimizing views of the lake and historic fishing weirs. The conservatory features the use of white cedar, paying homage to the local Indigenous groups which uses the same material to build fishing weirs.
