A tendency of today's art creation is to work in space-consuming large formats. Two new large studios on the Campus of Culture in Münster were created to fill this requirement. To enable these volumes of space, the simple roof trusses of the historic trooper barracks were deconstructed and built above the new ateliers cantilever prefabricated wood rib elements. The special quality of daylight for the artists is achieved by frameless glazing in the eaves. The wooden structure is dissolved like a timber truss and makes the flow of forces recognizable.
