Tehran World Trade Center is Iran’s tallest office building and will become a landmark and symbol of Tehran and Iran. To find a suitable geometry, we looked into an Iranian traditional architectural paradigm, the Charbagh (meaning four gardens) which is a quadrilateral garden layout with two perpendicular axes. We used the two axes of Tehran, the east-west axis (city’s most regular wind direction) and the north-south axis (city’s historical axis). We then separated these two axes to create a three-dimensional structure that was part hollow and interacted with ecological forces.
