FRANK 57 West reinterprets what makes an ideal community by offering a radical combination of programs including retail, an outpatient medical facility, and co-living spaces. Each use is expressed by a series of shifted volumes, distinguished by exterior material: large transparent glass for the base retail, fritted glass curtain wall with light and privacy for the central medical facility, and a highly energy-efficient zinc rain screen with operable windows for the residential section. Its eclectic mixed-use program redefines what it means to live on the far west side of Manhattan.
