The You Art Center is located in Changde, where the Chinese fable, “Land of Peach Blossoms” originated. The project vision is to use urban art as a medium to rebrand the old city identity. To accommodate various art programs, the You Art Center has stacked functional boxes, organized around a vertical public atrium. The venue becomes a museum without walls and boundaries for visitors to experience the space under the brightly lit skylight atrium. In addition, faceted aluminum cladding modules create an animating envelope effect, which differs depending on the viewing angle and daylight conditions.
