Chaoyang Future School integrates architectural re-use with pedagogical innovation. A single holistic solution, color, married all the needs of this refurbishment, reviving the natural qualities of the flora found on campus in its previous state. Intervening with the existing structures of the campus color signals the core values of the school - flexibility, interconnectedness and identity. More than decoration, the palette is a multilayered approach to communicate and address the many levels of interaction of each intervention, rethinking the nature of Chinese education.
