We have recently restored San Pablo Church’s facade. Diagonal fissures were discovered on both sides of the lateral spires that emerge from the ground, just where they join the bell gables. Different studies of the stability of the building show that those fissures were made by differential settlements, caused by the great difference of weight between the facade and lateral spires, but also caused by the pressure of choir’s vaults, built between 1500 and 1600. Vaults are 48 feet in width between axis and 42 feet of span; with longitudinal walls of 6 feet.
