ClientI set myself a challenge to design a simple, sustainable, flat-pack, kit-set house, that could be constructed by 2-3 semi-skilled tradesmen, using hand tools, but rigid enough to withstand cyclones.
A contemporary kit-set beach shack inspired by the elegance of John Prouve's, 'Demountable Houses' and 1970’s teenage surfing trips, when (we think) life was simpler and staying close to the beach in humble, unpretentious farm shacks was easier. It was this sense of simplicity, requiring less, living small and existing in the landscape that has inspired the development of Pak Shak.
