The Health Education Building is an interdisciplinary facility serving the schools of medicine, nursing and health professions. It is energized by an exciting new curriculum that inspires, engages and connects students, faculty and community, while establishing a new gateway and bridge to the academic medical center. It engages its surroundings with a transparent lantern-box design showcasing its leading-edge simulation environments unique to KUMC. The intricacies of these simulation volumes are a metaphor for the body’s organs floating within the building’s “corpus” as a figurative skin.
