Combining urban place-making and public art, the Delta is an integrated, site specific, interactive sculpture and water work designed by a collaborative team of artists and architects. Inspired by its site in the geography of the Fraser River delta, a place where communities formed, and where land and sea meet, the piece ascends in a welcoming embrace. This water feature creates a visual and aural screen, replacing the sights and sounds of traffic with calming cascades of water. From vertical white tubes, water flows onto shimmering, faceted, stainless steel “rocks”.
