Incision represents a story of rediscovery as one journeys from the present to find a future horizon, remembering the past and the journey taken. Within the interplay of the cut and the skin (ie. Earth), Incision creates thresholds between darkness/light, interior/exterior, internal/external, and past/future. The earth is surgically cut to sculpt/reveal the cracks within the site, allowing the natural terrain to superimpose the artificial landscape being created. From the discarded remains of the excavated material, a new island is formed and allowed to drift out into the sea.
