The Duke is a LEED Gold target, rental residential project designed under the City of Vancouver's Rental 100 Secured Market Rental Housing Policy. To achieve economic viability, The Duke's 201 living units are pushed to the site perimeter to maximize their number within a City height restriction. The central void creates a soaring open-air atrium circulation space, over which a translucent Teflon canopy and south-facing vertical slot flood the courtyard with natural daylight while an array of multi-coloured front doors further animates the central atrium space.
