The Odeyto Indigenous Student Centre is a home away from home for the school's Indigenous students. Odeyto is inspired by the image of a canoe docking to gather knowledge before continuing on life’s journey. As the only building on campus with a curvilinear design, Odeyto breaks away from the colonial grid. Striking when viewed from the outside, the building’s curves create a warm, womb-like interior. The structure alludes to the Haudenasaunee longhouse, reinforced by east and west glass entrances aligned to the summer solstice. The red doors honour the missing and murdered indigenous women.
