The 120-year old Yucai Primary school is located on the side of the Yangzhou Grand Canal which is an important passage of the Grand Canal, the world’s longest man-made waterway built in 2500 years ago.The design expresses concepts that the school is a happy and easy place for free thinking, free study and free personality. The design also creates a special atmosphere by local architectural language and scenes full of stories, forming a panoramic village of the campus, which indicates a collective memory of the concept of “growing up” of this South Yangtze River area.
