Located in the Chishui Danxia UNESCO World Heritage site, the complex consists of two main buildings, which put in relationship the mountain with the nearby Chishui River. The visitor center is located on the hillside while the exhibition center occupies a lower position, along the river bank, and they are connected by a red holistic base and a system of paths. The whole complex is characterized by the local Danxia stone’s red color, which gives the building its unique 'red personality', making it part of the surrounding landscape.
