The perforated façade follows the curvature of the building mass. Its pattern emanates from a 2D projection from the point where the two sides are most visible. Generated using a computer script that optimized the for shading, view control, and ventilation, the panelized façade dematerializes: vertical striations emerge from the repeated pattern of increasing openings, mimicking the tuffs of a curtain being gathered. Tabs cut from the base panel in five different sizes and re-welded at five different angles also help change the building’s appearance throughout the day.
