In Iki-island, Japan, the 90-year-old three-stories wooden inn, had been closed twenty years ago, was almost turning into an abandoned building, and a brewery was standing as a warehouse covered with dust. Recently the inn and the brewery have been refurbished and renovated to a new inn and a new restaurant. What we focused the most in this project was to use the existing structure as much as possible and a new lighting plan. A part of the ceiling in the restaurant was opened up allowing people to experience and enjoy the artistic wood beams and traditional wooden architecture.
