Built in the 1950s, the Jinhua Textile Factory left an important part in the history of Suining. In 2019, the scheme of revitalisation of the factory has been put forwarded by QUAD Studio. They proposed to inject a series of new cultural programmes and architectural interventions, which will transform the factory to become a new cultural destination for the city, while preserving the old identity of the factory. The Jinhua 1958 Cultural District is the first major revitalisation project in the city and will target to become the benchmark for the urban renewal development in China.
