This project is the adaptive re-use of a historic barn into a family's forever home. The design goals were to respect the original Dutch Gambrel design, preserve all of the original wood and steel structural elements, highlight the cathedral like interior volume while creating a modern but warm family home. Sustainability and aging in place were fundamental objectives. The home features solar panels, Tesla storage batteries & all systems are automated for energy efficiency: heat /air,blinds, fans, lights, lamps etc. The aging hay barn has been transformed into a remarkable family home.
