Located on the European side of Istanbul, the building was originally designed as a hotel. During the building process, the employer changed his mind and decided to use it as an office. Hence, he wanted to completely close the middle void to maximize the space, but was still persuaded to create a natural light beam from top to bottom with a tear to be opened.
