Taoism learns from Nature. Tucheng district in Taiwan flooded with temples of Tao, but most of the Taoists are idolatrous. Few of them truly comprehend the essence of Taoism. Located in the center of Tucheng, this library is designed base on four mottoes from Tao to calm readers’ mind. Before entering the lobby, readers first pass through an ornamental pond to settle their mind into slow pace, and then guided by the axial skylight to lobby and other floors. Visitors roaming between spaces to perceive different implied mottoes conveyed from architecture, solemn but relaxed, silent but dynamic.
