With Readers Pavilion at a corner of a typical municipal square, we try to maintain its openness and publicity as well as to turn its big scale into a more humane one. We merge it with surroundings and at the same time make it highly approachable. To fit into the triangle terrain, we design three semi-circles interconnected at the center with each supporting reading, kids activity and café. At their central joint is a public area for walking through. Each unit has both indoor and outdoor areas, which composes an overall complexity with spaces, interfaces, streamlines and experiential values.
