Bellechasse Transport Centre sets a new standard for urban integration by transforming a 300-bus garage into a topographical greenspace open to the community, in a neighborhood where such amenities are rare. The multi-level facility is the first of its kind in North America to be built underground. Echoing the spiral-shaped ramps, a circular figure hosts 600 staff offices, arranged in an open-plan concept around a four-season garden. The underground maintenance workshops are flooded with natural light from skylights integrated with the landscape.
