This ground-breaking new town in Qingdao, China provides the site for a modern campus for China’s famed Beihang University as the nucleus of research and innovation in a multi-centered regional development. Encompassing 738 hector, the project integrates research and teaching, technology business, and coastal recreational development connected by future-oriented, sustainable transit systems. The project’s plan is carefully fit into the context of regional landscape, site hydrology. The design creates a grand esplanade as an organizing spine to link a series of iconic, program-focused colleges.
