The Nippon Budokan was built in 1964, before the last Tokyo Olympics, with a strong desire to popularize traditional Japanese martial arts. In recent years, modern architecture is often demolished in Japan, but the first major renovation work carried out in 2019, 55 years after its completion, involved the same design and construction companies as at the time of construction. Taking a picture of the renovation work was also to tell a big story that the owner's desire to keep it carefully was combined with the thoughts of the engineers and people involved in the renovation.
