The hanging gardens (by Patrick Blanc) outside the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM, by Herzog & de Meuron) are designed with tropical/subtropical plants that can withstand the heat, humidity and hurricanes of Miami. The background towers are the condos along Biscayne Boulevard. The overall design of the threshold courtyard, with supporting members exposed and columnar gardens, are meant to evoke the structures built on stilts called Stiltsville in Biscayne Bay.
