In this regeneration project, the design aims to attract passersby to walk into the inner courtyard, pass through the modern exterior, and experience a gradual shifting return to the original spatial form of the Tulou (earthen building). To this end, we repaired the collapsed north wall and added a small floating cube at the northwest corner, which continued off the form language of the heritage while improving its openness, multi-functionality, and natural lighting. We take this single building as a prototype and try to find out the formula for revitalizing the social vitality of the village.
