The renovation of Hangzhou Boiler Factory sparked the development of Xizi Wisdom Park. The challenge is to avoid homogenization and suburbanization of large-scale industrial parks and restore urbanity to the area while preserving the old industrial reminiscence. Thus, infusing urban vitality into a suburban industrial park becomes a critical issue. Taking a clustering approach for the master plan, GOA proposes that the renovation should provide a container for industries and integrate multiple functionalities to form a comprehensive community with appropriate scale and moderate density.
