A small Tibetan Buddhism chorten erected at the entrance to the Everest Nature Preserve to help keep travellers to Everest safe. This sort of chorten (also called a stupa in other forms of Buddhism) comes from the Kalachakra Tantra and is not symbolic of the Buddha's life, but intended to protect against negative energies. The shot was taken with a Nikon F100 with a 55mm Nikkor lens and a polariser using Kodak Ektar 100 colour negative.
