ClientILKON. Ilkeston Contemporary Arts

ILKON was conceived, funded and designed by Chris Williamson bringing a beautiful redundant heritage building back to life as an inclusive multi purpose arts centre to inspire, inform and entertain the local community. Chris’s fantastic free education in Ilkeston enabled him to have a successful career in Architecture and wants to see ILKON grow into something equally inspiring. The 1936 church is lovingly repaired and restored using green technologies and insulation to reduce carbon emissions by 75% without detriment to the heritage fabric . AV and display lighting allow multiple uses.
