Casson Mann created the permanent exhibition for purpose-built visitor centre the First Light Pavilion. The fully immersive and interactive exhibition presents the human story of Jodrell Bank, the world’s first radio astronomy site and home to the radio telescope. Our vision was to use the enormous dish panels of the 1957 Lovell Telescope as the fabric of the whole exhibition. We created a panoramic array which brings visitors into direct contact with the authentic dish. Hassell Architects designed a circular building in dialogue with the site's heritage-an inverted dome of the same diameter.
