For two pre-teens who are craving privacy, Picnic Design decided to divide their room with a custom floor to ceiling bunkbed divider, accessed on different sides with their own door. Spatially, the S-shape lets one child occupy the lower “hemisphere” of the S, while the other takes over the upper one. Both beds get an infusion of natural light via the shared window in the centre. The bed and the desk are designed with maple-veneer plywood to act as a calm, neutral and uniform background. There is a secret connection between the two sides, giving them the opportunity to chat and to visit.
