The Slabtown Sequence presented an opportunity to integrate 4 blocks of a brownfield site into a vibrant new neighborhood.The project carefully balances Portland’s need for housing with thoughtfully designed pedestrian spaces that reflect the site’s industrial past and sustainable future. Through diligent collaboration with developers and architects, the landscape architect stitched together a patchwork of projects to create a cohesive tapestry of plazas, pedestrian ways, roof terraces and open space, all of which are predicated on celebrating the site’s history and furthering the public good.
