MixC Nanjing is a retail-led, mixed-use development located in the city’s 700-year-old Sanshan Street. Within this setting, the site features an original ‘Yunzhang Guild Building’ for the Nanjing Yunjin (silk brocade industry). The design concept respects the centuries-old context of the location while at the same time imagining a vibrant future for the area with the careful balance between ‘traditional’ and ‘new era’ underpinning the approach. The design reimagines the long-term continuation of the street texture with three distinct façade styles that fit comfortably within the district.
