Working closely with private developers and city officials, the Brooklyn Yards masterplan explores strategies to plan and design a South Brooklyn neighborhood for development rights and the maintenance of an open railway passage. Our design reincorporates a major section of the Bay Ridge rail line with its surrounding community to expand feasibility and use. In building over the three-mile-long rail cut, we can reclaim previously inaccessible space for a new mixed-use community, providing the area with much needed market-rate and affordable housing with a new network of connected green spaces.
