East Dover House sits on a rocky outcrop looking over an inlet on the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia, Canada. The photograph is from a series made on behalf of MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects. The design of the house draws on the language, craft and construction techniques of Nova Scotia’s vernacular architecture - fish sheds, boat houses, farm barns and others - that have been a constant muse in the contemporary practice of the MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple studio.
