The spiral stair screen at the Luthier Laneway project transposes traditional methods of wood kerfing used in violin making into a contemporary context, using parametric modeling and CNC fabrication to create a unique interior feature. This demanded a unique approach to capturing it and conveying its intent for the space. As both a designer and photographer, I have always been particularly interested in a sort of planimetric photography as a way to relate back to the fundamental plan drawings of a project. In this instance, the plan photograph was the perfect angle for this piece.
