Blood Alley adds 142 much needed housing units, including 80 affordable housing units and 62 market rental units to Gastown. The project conserves the original 1900s Stanley and New Fountain hotel façades, while rehabilitating the site with a new street wall and mid-rise tower. Public art is an integral component of the project, including a mural by Douglas Coupland, and "Ghost Lobby" by Henriquez. Ghost Lobby is a fossilized reconstruction of the original 1906 Stanley Hotel lobby bar. Painted entirely white the lobby is a minimalist interpretation of the bar and brings history to life.
