With population growth consistently ranked amongst the highest in the country, Boise, Idaho, has quickly outpaced its current central library. The site is located adjacent to the Boise River Greenbelt, a stretch of public space containing various cultural and civic amenities. Acting as a bridge over Capitol Blvd., the proposed library welcomes visitors from all directions, integrating into and expanding upon the Greenbelt system. A large public plaza, formed underneath the library, gives the city a major public space for events such as farmers’ markets, demonstrations, exhibitions, and more.
